Resizing your image…

How to resize an image online

Type a new width and height, or pick a preset for Instagram posts and stories, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook covers and 1080p. With the aspect-ratio lock on, changing one side updates the other so the picture is never stretched. Resizing happens in your browser — the image is not uploaded.

Step by step

  1. Add an image.
  2. Choose a preset or enter the width and height in pixels.
  3. Download the resized image.

Questions

What size should Instagram images be?

Square posts 1080 × 1080 px, portrait posts 1080 × 1350 px and stories or reels 1080 × 1920 px.

Will resizing reduce quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it much larger than the original cannot add detail, so it may look soft.

How do I resize a photo for a passport or visa?

Passport photos need exact millimetre sizes and head proportions — use the free passport photo maker, which handles both.

Can I make the file smaller too?

Yes — after resizing, use the image compressor, or the exact-KB compressor if a form has a size limit.
